Teen Vogue Fashion U. Launch Event at H&M
Friday, October 21st was the kickoff night of Teen Vogue Fashion University (TVFU) with a personal shopping event at H&M exclusively for TVFU Students. The night composed of a food, drinks, feather hair extension applications, Live DJ, live performance by band Viva Brother, and 25% discount on everything throughout the whole night. Everyone came dressed to impress and I was sure to have a camera to document it all. Lines for the fitting room and for check out stretched as far as it possibly could; the crowd was massive yet fun. I surely took advantage of that that 25% off discouTeen Vogue buttered us up with shopping but much more fun & free stuff were awaiting us the next day. Here's some scenery shots from the night.

Check it out, they have some amazing vintage pieces. From clothing to furniture.

ACCEPTED TO TEEN VOGUE FASHION U.
Something I should of posted in September but I didn't so here it is. Over the summer when the applications were released to apply to Teen Vogue Fashion University. There was no hesitating in my mind and YES I got accepted! I attended this 3 day event of shopping, free stuff, designers, industry insider tips, footsteps in the Conde Nast / Teen Vogue offices last year. I had knowledge of Teen Vogue Fashion U since I was 13 years old and because of the age minimum being 16 years old I couldn't wait till the 1-6. It was worth the wait. After my first attendance, OF COURSE I planned to attend until I'm 24 years old. (the age maximum to attend). I will never pass up opportunities like this. I cannot wait till Saturday morning. I hope I get enough sleep because stress and lack of sleep is what I'm amongst right now. Love Teen Vogue.

MUSIC_x_VIDEO: Rihanna "We Found Love"
“This is probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. It’s all about love and love being like a drug… you definitely get that from this. The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this video is about.”
-Rihanna
This video has too much power in and it honestly has left me speechless. Rihanna's message was well portrayed throughout the entire video and she deserves a million thank you's for it which I'm sure she'll receive. I've been a fan of Rihanna's since her Unfaithful song, and from then she has made a huge transformation. Some may say for the bad because of her rebellious image but I say it's PERFECT. She's damn near fearless and I say that because of this video. We all know/ is going to assume the video inspiration streamed from her past relationship with Chris Brown. She has taken such a huge part of her life that was involuntarily shared with the world and used it to share this deep message. Simply Amazing. -sabla`

"10 Things I Want To Say To A Black Woman"
Poem, written & performed by Joshua Bennett of Strivers Row
Good poetry inspires me and usually the poetry that I love the most, makes me think, or bring some sort of emotion out. This spoken word by Joshua B. has left me speechless with a smile on my face and It brings out my pride to be a black female. The video speaks for itself. Enjoy ♥

Random Photo Share (vol. 1) Kai B.
My buddy Kai B. She will be featured on GoldenSense a lot along with other friends of mine.
I took this photo of her while in the college office at school and her being a butthead made a funny face but the photo came out so cute and I just love how my friend Pablo in the background is just looking at her. When I edit photos I fall more in love with them, it gives a personal creative touch to it I guess. Visit her tumblr. ♥ -sabla`

Photography by "RAHM-BOW"
Honesty Hour: A lot of teenagers these days are seeking to be artist for all the wrong reasons. (Money $$$, Trends, Popularity etc.) When I say artist, my intentions were for it to be a broad statement. Teens seeking to be an artist, route ranges from designers, photographers, rappers, and producers, to name the popular trending art forms. Personally I can clearly separate the wannabes from the golden passion-followers. Of those passion-followers is Rahmeik B. who via internet goes by "Rahm-Bow." I don't remember how me and Rahmeik became buddies but I do remember our aim conversations back in 2009 that left us hysterically laughing. Rahmeik has been progressively becoming more amazing behind the camera and it clearly shows through these images I'm sharing. "Keep clicking the shutter button Rahmeik." -sabla`

MUSIC: New Look | The Ballad.
"So.. currently as of 1:39 am October 17th, 2011 the duo New Look single "The Ballad" is the song of GoldenSense. As you're reading this the song should automatically be playing. If it's another song entitled on the right of this page with a video playing then I changed the song, so click the play button bellow to actually listen to the song." -sabla` Now to proceed . . .
Sarah Ruba & Adam Pavao's music is such a breath of fresh air to me. They were introduced to me by a friend of mine and I'm so happy he did. "Future-Pop" is the genre that the duo categorize themselves under and that couldn't be the most perfect description. The Ballad is their first single and the only song I have by them at the moment but there's more, so check them out :)

FNO & Teen Vogue Haute Spot.
I'm about more than a month late with this post but it was due to my friend Shaquille having all the photos I took the night of Fashion's Night Out and taking very long with giving me the photos... anyways, that's beside the point :) moving on.
Sept 8th was Fashion's Nigh Out, the kickoff to Fashion week as well as the first day of my senior year in high school (class of 2012 ^^). After school before heading out to Soho for FNO a few friends of mine made out way to Teen Vogue Haute Spot located in Lincoln Center for a book signing from the editor and chief Amy Astley. I adore teen vogue, I've been a reader since 2007 so of course I was extra excited to meet the women responsible the magazine I read all the time. When she walked into the haute spot my heart honestly dropped, people of the magazine & fashion industry are my celebrities. While getting my book signed Ms. Astley and I had the longest conversation and she recognized me from an event I attended last October Teen Vogue Fashion University. We had the line waiting because of the length of our conversation but i really did not care. After speaking to her she introduced me to Eva Chen, the beauty director of Teen Vogue and from there we exchanged emails. Being the Teen Vogue enthusiast I dragged my friends to the Teen Vogue Block Party which was fun but we ended up leaving early to catch everything else that was going on in Soho. In all honesty FNO was amazing. Here are some photos from my Teen Vogue experiences that day, but this was only a small portion of went down that amazing night :*

"take off your cool, i want to see you"
some thoughts inspired by my previous post on Street Etiquette | Sartorial Sounds:"Take off your cool" song.
Every generation of teens has been rapped up in this "being cool" act which goes hand in hand with "fitting in". We worry about how to acquire it and how to maintain it, especially who we're impressing with it. I personally feel this "being cool' act alters the soul without ones own self noticing. Today the "cool" act streams from the internet, especially TUMBLR. People strive for having the best edited photo, taken with the best camera just so they can attain the most re-blogs etc. There's nothing wrong with that to a certain extent though, I have some photos of myself floating around because of the reblog button on tumblr but then you begin to become just a photo. There's more to me and I'm sure more to others than just their pretty face and well put together outfit. People are screaming "I love her/him" because of photos and you know nothing about them. I know some people who have others flock toward them just because of the way they look and automatically gets praised for being "cool." But, that person can barely hold a decent conversation, has no self respect, and is extremely disloyal, but remember they're praised for being "cool." I don't like to feed into that hype at all and that's why I entitled the post "take off your cool, i want to see you" because it's honestly a statement I stand by. I don't care about what you're wearing, I don't care about how many followers you have on tumblr, I don't care about the numerous amount of haters you have I care to see who YOU are. A simple, what do you do on your spare time, what's your favorite music, your talents, your interest. The simple questions that gives me a sense of who you are.
I want to see how good of a person you are first before anything, so take off the cool.
-sabla ♥

MUSIC: Sartorial Sounds | Street Etiquette
When so much talent is combusted into one beautiful creation, of course I can't help to be influenced & inspired, one way or another. Joshua Kissi & Travis Gumbs of the amazing men's style blog Streetetiquette.com presents Sartorial Sounds: "Take off your cool." The production of "Take off your cool" features the voices of Jesse Boykins III, Mara Hruby, Joekenneth Museau, Joshua Bennett, Theo Martins, MeLo-X, and Rinaldy Alvarez. The song, originally made by Outkast's Andre 3000 being covered by Mara Hruby in Sartorial Sound's version incorporates every individual talents such as spoken word, rapping, singing, and even tap.
I've had this song repeat constantly.

A 13 minute glimpse into the recording of "Take Off Your Cool" and a chance to witness how all the artist interact with one another. It also gives a chance to see a snippet of each individual's personality. Talent & Passion just filled the room and there was nothing less but good vibes occurring.

THRIFT SESSION: (vol 1)
Monday afternoon while looking for a dress for an event I have to attend this upcoming week, I decided to make a trip to the thrift shop with the little money I had (that i should have not spent)... but while I was on my way out the store I took one last look at the rack of sweaters and picked this beautiful sucker up. I read the shirt, saw the image and with no second thoughts, bought it. No regrets present at all. Of course I wore it today :)

MUSIC_x_VIDEO: Beyonce "Countdown"
I am happy Beyonce put out a music video for "countdown" because its my favorite song off the "4" album. I love the that shes embracing the 1960's in her video hence the fact that 1960's was a time of the "baby boom" era. I don't know if anyone realized that. I love when she gets to the number "3" in her chorus because its subliminally states her JayZ's creating a family. I found this song so beautiful.
"I'm Tryna Make Us 3
From That 2
Still the 1"
Despite some people's disappointment in the video because it doesn't compare to what she has done before can people realize that there is such thing as variety & versatility and the fact that the women is pregnant!!! The video effects over exaggerated her dance moves in a tasteful way so I'm pretty sure Beyonce wasn't going to crazy with her amazing dance moves.
so heres a story to tell. I'm an employee of American Apparel as well as my best friend. My best friend is insanely, incredibly in love with Beyonce, she undoubtedly had a great effect on his life. Long/sad story short, Beyonce and her team walked into my friend's store and bought a whole bunch of stuff of course and using my common sense I see A LOT of American Apparel in this video. All the colors of chiffon button downs is featured here in Countdown. My friend came to work 15 minutes after Beyonce left :( Luckily his coworkers know and love him so much, they were sure to share with Beyonce that one of her biggest fans is an employee of the store. -sabla`
VISIONS OF VISIONARIES W. ERYKAH BADU
"Ms. Badu, who was part of Moments at MADE - Chapter Two sat down with us and shared her insights and thoughts about art, the creative process and what makes her smile.
Thank you Erykah for inspiring us all." - made-blog.com
The first time I watched this video was a few weeks ago on one of my favorite blogger's blog who goes by "teffTHEdon." I love her for posting this video of the Ms. Erykah Badu and because I love Erykah Badu so much I just could not resist posting this video up. She is a true Golden person in my eyes. Her creativity, music, words, and style has impacted me and truly serves nothing but inspiration to my life. Erykah has served inspiration to me before I even knew what inspired meant. By watching this interview, she reminded and taught me why I am an artist. Her passion & creativity is evident and is forever and continuously inspiring.

ART: "beautifulurself."
![]() |
| cargocollective.com/beautifulurself |
I Love art in all forms but art that I can see with my eyes and is created by someone's hands if its digitally or with a pencil & paper I truly love it. (Maybe because I'm an artist myself.)
Everything on Tumblr is random because of that "reblog" button, so you never know what will pop up on your tumblr dashboard. You know what to expect depending on who you follow. I follow a lot of "artistic" people in my opinion. I refrain from the tumblrs that compose of mainstream content such as ones that feature "cute" guys with snapbacks, Nicki Minaj, girls & guys in their jordans etc.
... To get to the point of this post, I came across this art-piece and I had to find the source of it immediately. I have not gotten the female artist name at all but I probably have all of the sites she host that displays her artwork. Her work is so unique, inspiring, and just damn amazing in my eyes. Check her out.

MUSIC: Change Of Heart (sampler freestyle)
Produced by Jesse Boykins III & shot by Joshua Kissi of StreetEtiquette
I love when I hear new music especially if it's coming from Jesse Boykins III. A sampler freestyle, Change of Heart features the voices of MeLo-X, Jesse Boykins III, MoRuf, & Chris Turner. Anytime when a spoken word is intertwined into a song makes the music so much more amazing to me, and brings a more personal feel. Jesse B. promotes and often recites that, "We Are The Reawakening Of The Romantic Movement" and that couldn't be anything less than true. I wasn't too familiar with Chris Turner but his voice is amazing, the way his voice and Jesse's mixed was so perfect. It won't be too long from now when I will catch my hour long train rides listening to Chris Turner.
