Bliss Harlem Weather



Today marked the last day of my spring break and it ended off great despite the minor homeworks I still have to do. Today is my bestfriend's birthday and I headed out early this morning to spend my day with her and a few more friends. Hanging out with them plus the amazing sunny weather today in New York was just the icing of the cake. Heres a look at what I wore today, you can also hype this look on my Lookbook.nu

My Bestfriend Coniqua J. We been bestfriends since the 6th grade, today was her birthday and I spent it with her and a few other friends. We all went out to IHOP for her birthday breakfast then made our way to 135th street & St. Nicks to spend some time at the park and act like 16 year old fools, well in her case now, a 17 year old fool. Breaking Dawn

Last Night I got in the house around 11 pm. I did exactly what I said I wasn't going to do, and that's go on facebook and tumblr. Plus I spent more hours downloading new music (love new music.) Luckily I made a post here on GoldenSense last night. I did some productive things I had to cross off my list but not enough. If you didn't guess already, I didn't go to sleep and as I'm writing this it's 6:55 am and I have a hour & half train ride ahead of me and a 2-9 shift at American Apparel. So..... I'm going to go to sleep for 4 hours. Not before I check out my most recent post again.
Good Morning....... btw, Happy Easter Sunday!

Every time I post, I constantly look back at it just to make sure it looks good with the page. I'm too much a perfectionist. I at least look back at my post more than 10 times after I post it.

Inspiration Board

Well, one quality of being 16 years old is leaving things to the last minute by PROCRASTINATING! My new years resolution was to quit doing the "P" word but who really is really successful with new years resolutions. Around 2 am I created myself an inspiration board (not really a board since I did it on the computer.) I'm intrigued by the style of Erykah Badu and especially Solange Knowles. I love M.I.A's funky mix of clothing and her GOLD jewelry as you can see in the photo I featured of her. I prefer gold over silver any day. Look at the name of my blog, GoldenSense for goodness sake. You can also see that I'm greatly influenced by cultural African prints, and beautiful jewel tones. I hope this inspires me a great deal because Ive been in a creative rut. I guess I'll call it "designer's block."

Suede Fringe Shawl

 Just recently my mom and I was doing some spring cleaning, while my mom was going through her closet she found this old Donna Karan camel colored suede finge shawl from a sample sale. My mom and I literally had a fight over me keeping the Shawl. So after our lil debate I convinced her to at least let me keep it in my closet. ;) so i guess I won that debate.



Wearing the Shawl as a skirt and yes I have a metrocard bordered Closet.

Drafting Table

Excuse my depressed look on my face and the very creepy photo above. I spent my whole day re doing my room. I purchased the Utrecht Contemporary Drafting Table 3 set yesterday. My creativity haven't been spilling out lately and I felt it was due to not having a comfortable setting to sit down at and sketch. So when i saw this 3 for one price drafting table at Utrecht Art Supply I just needed to have it. It was only $159.99 for The adjustable table that tilts up to a 90 degree angle, a light, and hydraulic chair. I felt it was such a great deal. I hope this new purchase encourages me to sketch almost every day.
