A Queen

If it's one thing I know I'm bad at its explaining why I created something. It's usually as simple as, Its what I thought about and heres a result of me laying it out on paper. But, a while ago a friend of mine wrote a poem titled "She wears black red and green" and while illustrating this, I had that poem in mind. I feel the message of powerful black females who are truely queens within matches the poem and this artwork to a T.

The Poem: Black the color of your skin
The color of deep thought and the pride with in
Sweat dripping your natural fruits marching in boots
The color of power deep with in your roots
The heart of a lion with the pride of a panther
When I think of the perfect black female your my answer
Red the color of strength in your heart
The color that can seduce a man to your art
The fire in your eyes that motivates your drive
The color that flow and gives you life
Greens everything else that powers a queen
Her vision her beauty her unspoken dreams
What a queen, what goddess, a nubian princess
Africa is her dress and she wears it the best - Elijah Pryor
